Colonial Management Group, LP, is currently searching for a PT Billing/Intake Specialist.  Successful candidates will work under the supervision of the Corporate Billing Supervisor.  The  Billing/Intake Specialist is responsible for the gathering of treatment authorizations, speaking with patients, and record keeping.  This position requires good communication skills and attention to detail.

Schedule: Monday thru Friday 9:00am- 1:00pm (20 hours per week)
 
 
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Gather  demographic information from Patients  seeking services 
  • Collect insurance data  and key into system with 98% accuracy 
  • Check eligibility of insurance provided to determine  if active 
  • Copy insurance cards to the system 
  • Obtain insurance authorization prior to rendering services 
  • Assist with Denial 
  • Meet with  Patients to discuss financial responsibility 
  • Assist with patient  reimbursements  & Mileage 
  • Assist patients with private insurance and provide reports 
  • Receives phone calls from Patients regarding authorization statues 
  • Receives and makes calls to insurance companies to follow up on authorizations requests
  • Communicates directly with Revenue Cycle

 
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office (especially MS Excel and Outlook).
  • Basic Mathematics skills required
  • Excellent organization skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to maintain highest level of confidentiality, discretion and integrity.
  • Demonstrates an independent work initiative, sound judgment and attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Experience working in an office environment. 
  • Experience working in a medical office and/or handling collections is preferred.
 
 
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
  • Experience in working  in a medical setting 
  • Must have experience in knowing different types of insurances 
  • High school diploma / Some college or  Specialized training 
  • Customer Service experience
  • Min 40 WPM typing speed
  • Spanish speaker a plus – required in certain geographical areas
  • Candidates must be able to pass a credit check, background check and drug screening.
